WindCalculator is a simple Windows form that will the actual/apparent wind direction and speed based on the boat speed.

Enter the boat speed, apparent wind speed and direction and calculate the actual wind speed and direction. Switching to calculating the apparent wind based on the actual wind speed and direction.

Wind direction from the port will be considered negative angles, while from the starboard will be considered positive angles.

If you are calculating the actual wind, extra buttons to calculate the wind based on the Close Hauled (45 degrees), Close Reach (67.5 degrees), Beam Reach (90 degrees), Broad Reach (135 degrees) and Run (180 degrees) are provided for quick calculations.

There is even a cheezy graphical display showing the relative directions and strengths of the wind.
