March 13, 2011Total time out: 8.1 miles 1:52:03Actual racing: 5.8 miles 1:09:141st in the Spring Snowflake Race Series on the Takaya ... gale warnings all over the place, but it didn't look that bad at the start ... only around 26 knots ... which made things interesting. On the downwind leg the wind started swirling all around and we couldn't keep the boat upright ... a few times we were 50-60 degrees of heel. Shortly after that the race was called and we returned to port. Next race will be in 2 weeks.
