First sail on the new boat ... pretty soon after raising the sails I found myself out of my comfort zone ... a few minutes later Doug found the same thing ... the wind went to 30 knots and was shifting all over the place ... not very much fun, but I learned a lot. We needed to get under more control before we could attempt to reef, but by then we had decided to go home.

First sailing trip April 22, 2010 ... got out of control quickly as the wind got to 30 knots

Spray coming over the bow ... at this time the wind was manageable, a few minutes later it had doubled and we were in trouble ... again good thing that Doug was in charge of the helm

The jib sheet got away from us as the wind suddenly picked up ... couldn't pull in the jib which made things entertaining until we got turned into the wind

Starting to heel it got worse, but I had to put down the camera and help out before we went in the drink

First day out on the new boat ... the weather was terrible ... rain ... rain ... rain ... with no wind. The engine performed flawlessly which was all that mattered.

Trip to Horseshoe Bay April 17, 2010

Jib fully unfurled to become a Genoa ... too bad there wasn't any wind

More working on the boat ... got the water out and it looks wonderful then we got the sail up and that was a huge relief

The mainsail is up and looking just fantastic

The inside of the boat is now dry and looking just wonderful

New lazy jacks fixed after breaking the last time out ... the boat is looking great.
