Janet and I finally found a day where we could take the boat out and actually get the sail up for a change. Today there wasn't that much wind and we had the sail reefed in just in case the gusts were too much for us. What a wonderful day to build up our confidence sailing on our own.
Go to Google Maps and follow the route we took today. Or visit sailing video's to see a short video of the trip.

Quick picture by balancing the camera on the cabin and trying not to rock the boat that much. It was a wonderful day out on the ocean.

The captain's buddy Gilligan finally get's his turn at controlling the boat

Good thing that we have a GPS so we can track where we have been.

Janet checking out the hammock like properties of the sail ... looks cozy.

We even managed to keep the sails relatively full of wind ... good thing Peter had given us those sailing lessons.

The happy captain at the tiller again. Almost like I was only there just to take pictures of her.

Janet showing that she is really the captain of the Zephyrus.

The happy captain in control once again.

And we wondered why we couldn't sail in a straight line.

Aiming at a point on Bowen Island. It was much harder than I thought sailing with the wind than sailing into the wind.

Waiting for the Bowen Island ferry to cross our bow so we could turn into Snug Cove.

weeeeeeeeeeee! looks like fun you two. wish I was there to enjoy it, though it wouldn't have been a "solo-sail". next time i'll get my own 222 and we can buzz around the straight like disorganized bees causing grief and havoc for all the other boats around us!
