Repairing the boat after my first season of sailing it ... hit 2 rocks both going very slowly and some damage from before I bought the boat made for a long week of sanding, scraping and painting. The boat stayed at Race Rocks from the Sept 21 to Sept 28 for a wonderful week of fixing ... so much better now it is all clean and everything is attached.

Wow ... that would have slowed down the boat

The dirty hull covered with barnacles

Dirty keel that needs a lot of cleaning

The boat being moved into position after the barnacles were scraped off

The parking spot for the week of repairs

In the repair slot

Dirty face even when I was wearing a mask

The blue man

Permanently blue hand for a few weeks after this ... should have been wearing gloves

Missing a few teeth of the impeller ... glad that was caught before all the teeth came off

So that is what a rock does to a keel

More rock damage

Am I missing something ... the propellor is off and being cleaned

Ton of lead to keep the boat upright when the wind blows

The keel is fixed and waiting for a few coats of paint

Doug working hard on the rudder repairs

Doug sanding the rudder

The keel has been repaired

Looking beautiful ... 2500 lbs of lead is ready for paint

The bow is repaired ... I might have damaged the keel and the rudder, but the bow was damaged before I started sailing the boat

Before the first coat of paint ... a lot of sanding and repair went into this

The propellor has been buffed and installed ... works so much better now

After the first coat of paint

The bow is nicely painted and ready for sailing

After the first coat of paint ... looking good ... just one more coat to go

Being moved back into the water
